How to Change a Percent to a Fraction
TutorGiant
To convert a percent to a fraction, you must put the percentage over 100 and drop the % sign then reduce. For example: 25% = 25 = 1 100 4 Over 400 Videos and

But, sometimes percentages have fractions in them like 66 2/3 . The fraction 66 2/3 is read as 66 2/3 over 100 (or 66 2/3 divided by 100). What we have to do is convert 66 2/3 from a mixed number to an improper fraction. Then, we can divide by 100. So, when we change 66 2/3 to an improper fraction, it becomes 200/3 (see tip on converting mixed numbers to improper fractions). Now, we take 200/3 and divide by 100. In doing so, it is easier to invert and multiply (i.e. instead of dividing by 100, we multiply by 1 over 100). So 200 divided by 100 = 200 x 1 = 2 3 3 100 3
What did we do?
1. We changed the mixed number to an improper fraction .
2. Instead of dividing the improper fraction by 100, we inverted and multiplied by 1 over
100.
