·         organize data

·         look for patterns and make comparisons in graphs

Your child should be familiar with the appropriate vocabulary related to grade 1 data management and graphs such as:

·         graph

·         always, probable, never…

·         survey

·         data

How you can help your child at home:

1.    Look for graphs and charts in magazines and the newspaper.  Show your child the variety of graphs and how they show information.

Make sure your child is aware that the language from ‘probability’ is applicable to graphing.
