Fractions – Grade 2 Math, Help My Child Learn Fractions

     In grade 2 math, your child will be introduced to the idea that a fraction is part of a whole or set. 

     Your child will learn:

·         to identify parts of a set

·         to identify a half, quarter, and third

·         to solve simple problems involving fractions

     Your child should be familiar with the appropriate vocabulary related to grade 2 fractions such as:

·         fraction

·         half

·         quarter

·         third

·         fourth

How you can help your child at home:

1.    Cut out a piece of paper and have your child color in half, a third, a quarter, etc…
