Probability – Grade 3 Probability

By Stuart Ackerman

In grade 3 math, your child will be introduced to probability in mathematics.

     Your child will learn:

·         to conduct probability experiments

·         to use probability language when making predictions

·         to predict possible outcomes

Your child should be familiar with the appropriate vocabulary related to grade 3 probability such as:

·         unlikely, likely, very likely

·         less probable, probable, equally probable, more probable

·         spinner

·         never, impossible

How you can help your child at home:

  1. While reading a newspaper or magazine, point out probability language to your child.

The more practice your child has with grade 3 probability at home, the better his or her probability skills will become.
