Probability – Grade 4 Probability

     In grade 4 math, your child will be introduced to probability in mathematics.

     Your child will learn:

·         to make predictions using probability language

·         to use tree diagrams

·         to express probabilities as fractions  

     Your child should be familiar with the appropriate vocabulary related to grade 4 probability such as:

·         unlikely, likely, very likely

·         less probable, probable, equally probable, more probable

·         spinner

·         never, impossible

How you can help your child at home:

1. While reading a newspaper or magazine, point out probability language to your child.

     The more practice your child has with grade 4 probability at home, the better his or her probability skills will become.
