Data Management – Grade 6 Math Help with Graphs and Data

     In grade 6 math, your child will be introduced to different types of graphs.

     Your child will learn:

·         about pictographs, bar graphs, and scales

·         to interpret bar graphs, circle graphs and pictographs

·         to interpret data

·         about Venn diagrams

·         to organize and sort data

     Your child should be familiar with the appropriate vocabulary related to grade 3 data management such as:

·         pictograph

·         bar graph

·         scale

·         classify

·         coordinate pairs

How you can help your child at home:

1. Your child can sort some toys or games and put the data in a chart.

     The more practice your child has with grade 6 data management at home, the better his or her graphing and data skills will become.
